Body Shop British Rose Palette Make Up Look

If you read my recent blog post all about the new British Rose launch event at the Body Shop, Meadowhall then you may have remember that I promised I would be doing a post creating different looks using the eye shadow and blush palette, as well as using the lip and cheek stain. Therefore, this is exactly what I have decided to bring to you right here on my blog today. The amazing thing about this palette is that the colours and shades in it allow for both daytime and night time looks to be created! The colours are very build-able, pigmented and transitional for the season that is currently approaching.

As you can see from the pictures above, the palette consists of pinks, silvers and blues and the different shades allow for a beautiful coloured smoky look to be created. For this look I have created a night time smoky look, but this could also have been built on with the more silver shade, however I just went for a more subtle look and made it night time appropriate by wearing a red lip. Therefore, again this could have been very day time suitable by adding a nude lip to tone down the look. So now I will talk you through how I have created this look for you all...

As I said above, I ended up creating a night time look with the palette but honestly it is super easy to create so many different looks with it! I absolutely love creating a smoky eye, its probably one of my favourite looks to create because it means you can blend a variety of the different colours in a palette and create something a little bit different. I always like to add a colour pop to my eyes and experiment a little bit with different shades. The one annoying aspect to this is that the shades in the palette have no names, so therefore I will just have to do my best to describe each shade to you.

So, for this look I covered the entirety of my eye lid with the left hand pink shade, I packed the colour on over the whole of my eye as it is a beautiful dusky pink shade. Following this I then used the middle blue shade for the outer corner, and packed this colour on to ensure that the pigmentation was very visible. I really love this colour, it is a beautiful ice blue and is very versatile for all seasons and definitely appropriate for the spring especially when blended with the beautiful pink colours. I then used the far right pink eye shadow shade for the inner corner and blended this shade into the blue. This then created a stunning smoky look but using colour as opposed to monochrome or brown.

To make this more night time appropriate you could add some of the darker grey shade to the outer corner to create an even more smoky look. I then used the lip and cheek stain on my lips in the shade 018 dark cherry which created this beautiful pink/red colour. I definitely think this lip colour makes the look more night time appropriate but obviously if this wasn't your ideal shade you could mix it up and try a nude lip or a pink lip as this would create the perfect springtime look.

Overall I am very happy with this palette, I do believe it will be very versatile and the different shades of colours will be perfect for the transition from Winter into Spring. Again, because it is part of the Body Shops British Rose collection, then I would advise that if you want it - go get it as soon as possible because it will be gone before too long!

Let me know what you think of this look and keep your eyes peeled over on my instagram for more looks using the British Rose palette!

Much Love
